May 17, 2002--The band announces the addition of Rus Reppert (guitar) and Cameron Lewis (vocals) to the lineup. Earlier in the month, the band announced the addition of Chris Q as the new bass player.

March 23, 2002--Hannah Ross and Jim Kuras play their last show with the band at the Ducret Art School in Plianfield, NJ.

Aug. 5, 2001--The Recipe's RV goes up in flames: On their way back from a show in Florida, the band's RV caught fire near Columbia, SC. Everyone got out just in time before the RV was engulfed. Everything in the RV was lost.

April 27, 2001--Julie Edlow joins the band: Julie was formerly the singer of Black-Eyed Susan.

March 17, 2001--Kristen Wolverton leaves the band: Her last show was in Teaneck, NJ. Julie Edlow, formerly of Black-Eyed Susan, joins the band on vocals on April 27.

Dec. 15, 2000--Forks of the Buffalo, a Recipe side project, debuts: Forks of the Buffalo, a new side project featuring members of The Recipe, debuted last Dec. 15, opening for The Seldom Scene at the Recher Theatre in Towson, Md. The band is comprised of Joe Prichard (guitar) and Amos Ross (banjo), along with former Recipe bass player Donovan Monday. The trio will also open for The Recipe on New Year's Eve at the Chameleon Club in Lancaster, Pa.

Dec. 2, 2000--Mike Vitale plays his last show with The Recipe: Bass player Mike "Dr. Love" Vitale left The Recipe to pursue other interests after more than a year with the band. His last show was at Jack Straws in Charlotte, NC. He has been replaced by Jim Kuras of Hypnotic Clambake. 

Nov. 7, 2000--The Recipe featured on eyeqradio.com: The Recipe was featured Nov. 7, on eyeqradio.com. Porch person (and taper extraordinare) Tracy Toler hosted a two-hour show titled "From The Porch," from 10 to 12 p.m. The featured show was the Aug. 26 Morgantown show. Expect "From The Porch" to be a regular monthly show on eyeqradio.com, perhaps becoming weekly if you all visit the site to show your support for the band!

Nov. 5, 2000--The Recipe performs on Mountain Stage: The Recipe made their Mountain Stage debut on Sunday, Nov. 5, in Martinsburg, W.Va. The world famous Live from the Mountain Stage radio program is recorded for West Virginia Public Radio for broadcast on over 100 Public Radio stations around the country, and around the world on Public Radio International. 

Sept. 13, 2000--Porchparty.com celebrates its first anniversary this week: Porchparty.com was born one year ago this week.

Sept. 10, 2000--The Recipe football team beats the Porch People in the First Annual Huff N' Puff Bowl: After months of unscrupulous trash talking, both teams worked up a sweat after the Cookout (and finished off the keg on the sidelines.) The Recipe won 35 to 14. Porch People have already begun working out for next year's game where they plan to take revenge.

Sept. 10, 2000--The Second Annual Recipe Family Cookout concludes: After two glorious days and nights on the banks of the beautiful Cheat River in Albright, WV, the fun came to an end as dozens of Porch People went their separate ways after the Cookout. The weekend was perfect with dancing, drinking and even some alien sightings. Photos soon!

Sept. 8, 2000--Porch People receive the first copies of Geode: Everyone at The Recipe Family Cookout had the first opportunity to pick up a copy of the new CD, Geode, which is hot off the presses. It was received with rave reviews. Visit therecipe.com to order your copy now.

Summer, 2000--Amos Ross officially joins The Recipe on banjo: Amos Ross, brother of fiddle player Hannah, officially joined the band after sitting in as a guest for several months. Porch People everywhere praise the new sound Amos' banjo brings to The Recipe's music. Look for Amos at the next show--he's not hard to miss. He has recently been spotted with bright turquoise hair, and before that, hot pink hair.

Aug. 23, 2000--Happy 5th anniversary, Recipe! Did you know the band's first show billed as "The Recipe" was played Aug. 23, 1995 at The Dungeon in Morgantown, WV?  Before that they performed as "Party People in a Can," formed in early 1995. It is soon after their fifth birthday that they prepare to release their third CD, "Geode," due out Sept. 26 on the Phoenix Rising label. Some of the songs from the new CD were played live for he first time at a free anniversary show at McQuain Riverfront Park in Morgantown on Saturday, Aug. 26.

July 15, 2000--More info on the upcoming release "Geode": Recording is complete on Geode, which is due out in early fall. You can likely pick up a copy of the new CD at the August 26 show at McQuain Riverfront Park in Morgantown, WV, which is being dubbed a CD release party. Included on the album will be "The Garden," a song not yet performed live. The Recipe keeps it all in the family and gets another sibling involved as Joe and Kristen perform with Joe's sister Stacy and her husband on "The Garden," we heard. Among all the anticipated surprises on Geode, there is one special surprise we heard about that we promised not to tell. Just make sure not to hit stop on the CD after the last song.

July 4, 2000--Even more "Geode" tidbits: Kristen said Geode is full of many musical surprises, thanks in part to the new blood in the band, fiddle player Hannah Ross and bass player Mike Vitale. Why the name "Geode," we asked? According to Kristen, it symbolizes how the band feels about itself and their music right now. To paraphrase Kristen, The Recipe is like a Geode because "on the outside, it looks kinda rough, not like much, but crack it open and on the inside it is beautiful and shiny..."
